In fact, he was a Jewish Roman historian writing for a Roman audience. Yet in his historical record, he makes direct reference to Jesus of Nazareth, His crucifixion under Pontius Pilate, and the early movement of His followers. This matters because Josephus is an extra-biblical source — meaning his testimony e

Evidence from Ancient Texts -Josephus' Writings**: The Jewish historian Flavius Josephus provides one of the earliest non-Christian references to Jesus, describing him as a wise man and a doer of wonderful works. His accounts lend credibility to the historical Jesus, highlighting how he was perceived by contemporaries. #historic #jesuschrist #christiantiktok #podcast #chokepointsthroughtime

#Josephus wrote that there were gleaming soldiers in the clouds when Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD. He literally describes what sounds like heavens armies. Does anyone else think it's odd that we have to read about prophesy fulfillment from Flavius Josephus and not from the apostle John? Or anyone connected with Jesus in anyway for that matter. Maybe people don't want us to know about what it meant.

Jerusalem was starving, tearing itself apart, and under siege. ⚔️ In The War of the Jews, Book 1, Chapter 18, Josephus records the brutal fall of the city to Herod and the Roman general Sosius. For five months, the defenders held out. They raised new walls as fast as the Romans destroyed the old ones and tunneled beneath the earth to refuse open battle. But when the walls were finally breached, Roman centurions poured in. Driven by the rage of a long siege, they slaughtered without distinction.
